Geraldine Ferraro. The crying former VP candidate who is somehow now this fiery, say what is right no matter what people think trailblazer!?
Rush Limbaugh recently said, “Let’s see, a woman or a black man against the GOP in a general election for President. Pause………….The Democrat’s don’t stand a chance!”
Ferraro insinuates that Obama has an advantage because he is a black man. Now I don’t give a lot of credence to what Limbaugh spouts, but I have to use his quote to make my point. Neither being a black man or a woman of any color is an advantage in this election.
What has been an advantage is how blind-sighted American’s who voted for Dubya/Cheney the past 7 years have finally come to realize that Republicans are not for the people. They are against the people in favor of corporate interests….. and their own.
This has been a gem of a political occurence/gift that has been long overdue.
You want the facts Ms. Ferraro, the fact is that the middle class dared wake up and realize that the only way to move past the mess that we’ve been in is to elect someone who gives the US a break from the polarization that has been a cancer to this nation (the H Bush Presidency, Clinton Presidency and now the Dubya Presidency).
The fact is that if there was a white male candidate who had what Obama has, he too would be in Obama’s place. In fact, he’d be the nominee because Hillary would not have stood a chance.
And NO, John Edwards does and has never had what Obama has! I live in NC and when he speaks, trial lawyer from and a Lifetime channel movie jargon spills out of his mouth. It just isn’t real.
John F. Kennedy had IT, Ronald Reagan had IT, Bill Clinton had IT, Obama has IT.
Hillary doesn’t! But she doe’s have Bill. But now:
-he’s just a Bill,
yes he’s only a Bill,
and I think HE wants back on Capital Hill-
If it were not for Bill Clinton, Hillary would not be where she is. I guess that’s playing the husband card.
I think it’s safe to say that Ferraro was a better Presidential candidate at the time she ran for VP, then Hillary is now. Oh, I forgot about Bill again. Ok, when you add Bill to the equation, then Hillary trumps Ferraro.
But that’s the point, other then the feminist democrat’s who rightfully want to vote for a woman at all costs, I think those who think it would be a good idea that Bill Clinton was back in the White House are the ones (Ohio, New York, California) who vote for Hillary.
Other than blacks, who rightfully want to vote for someone who casts them is such a better light then anyone else has in decades (at all costs), those who desperately want to bust up the political establishment in DC, and usher in a new era where the Secretary of State/Labor/Defense/Education and other cabinet posts are not the former CEO’s of the very companies who have benefited financially from shipping American jobs overseas or to Mexico, or who benefited from the relaxed Bush Administration’s laxed Border enforcement. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m ready for some new blood to lead this country. The old blood has gotten us to near $4 a gallon gas, a bad economy, inflation, an unemployment rate higher than what the US Labor Dept. reports (http://www.thinkandask.com/news/jobs.html).
